Experiment Two
In this experiment I compared the DNA extracted from unstrained
and strained kiwi. The temperature of alcohol was -15°C.
DNA source: Kiwi |
Observations
(immediate) |
Observations
(24
hours later) |
Strained |
DNA formed ice-like just above
the surface of the alcohol. DNA formed immediately. |
DNA has formed a medium
cylinder-shaped at the very top of the test tube. |
Unstrained |
(The unstrained version of the
kiwi included many seeds and pulp since it was not strained). Not much DNA
was produced except for very tiny particles at the very top of the test
tube.
|
DNA has formed small cylinder
like blobs around the middle of the test tube. |
After the last written observations were made, DNA sources in both test tubes
were carefully removed and weighed.
